Terms of Service
These terms are an agreement between you and Prompt Butler LLC for your use of the Prompt Butler Chrome extension, website and related services (together, "Prompt Butler"). By installing or using Prompt Butler, you agree to them. If you use Prompt Butler on behalf of an organization, you agree for that organization and confirm you have the authority to do so. If you don't agree, please don't use Prompt Butler.
1. What Prompt Butler does
Prompt Butler saves replies you choose from AI chat services such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, and helps you turn the conversation behind them into reusable prompts, templates and agents. Prompt Butler is an independent product. It isn't made, endorsed or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other AI provider, and product names are used only to describe what Prompt Butler works with. Your use of those AI services remains subject to their own terms.
2. Your account
You need an account to use Prompt Butler, and you must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for online services where you live if that's higher. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to buy a paid plan. Please keep your sign-in secure and tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for activity under your account.
3. A new and changing service
Prompt Butler is new and improving quickly. Features may change, be paused or be removed, and Prompt Butler may sometimes be unavailable. We'd love your feedback; if you send us suggestions, we may use them freely and without owing you anything.
4. Plans, trials and billing
- Plans. We offer Free, Pro and Super plans, each with an allowance of new workflows per billing cycle, as described in our pricing and in the extension. A cycle is your monthly billing period on a paid plan, or each 30 days from when you joined on Free. Deleting a workflow doesn't restore its allowance, and saving a new version of an existing workflow doesn't use it. To keep the service available for everyone, we also apply a fair-use limit on how many smart prompts an account can request each cycle, set well above normal use.
- Free trial. Pro and Super may start with a 7-day free trial, once per account. You'll be asked for a payment method. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts and you'll be charged the plan's price when the trial ends.
- Automatic renewal. Paid plans renew automatically every month, and you'll be charged the then-current price on each renewal date until you cancel. Settings → Your plan always shows your next charge date and amount.
- Payments. Payments are handled securely by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number. Prices are in US dollars and don't include taxes, which may be added where required. If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it succeeds.
- Price changes. We'll tell you at least 30 days before a price change applies to your plan, and you can cancel before it does.
5. Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel any time in the extension: Settings → Your plan → Cancel Plan. It takes one click. You keep your paid plan until the end of the period you've already paid for, and you won't be charged again. You can also cancel from the billing page linked in Settings, or by emailing [email protected].
Payments for partial billing periods aren't refundable, except where the law requires a refund. If something went wrong with a charge, email us and we'll look into it promptly.
6. Your content
"Your content" means the conversations, replies, files, prompts and templates you save in Prompt Butler. You keep all rights to your content. You give us permission to process it only as needed to provide Prompt Butler to you, for example when the butler takes a conversation you chose to save to our AI provider to prepare your prompt, as explained in our privacy policy. We don't use your content to advertise to you or to train AI models. Your workflows are stored in your browser, so please keep copies of anything important (the side panel's Export button makes this easy).
You confirm that you have the right to save and use the content you bring to Prompt Butler.
7. AI-written output
Prompts, titles, templates and agents that Prompt Butler writes are produced by AI and may be incomplete, inaccurate or unsuitable for your purpose. Please review them before you rely on them, especially for legal, medical, financial or other important decisions. You're responsible for how you use them. As between you and us, you own the prompts written for your workflows.
8. Acceptable use
Please don't use Prompt Butler to: break the law or anyone's rights; break the terms of the AI services you use it with; get around plan limits or access other people's data; interfere with, overload, reverse engineer or copy Prompt Butler, except where the law allows; or resell Prompt Butler without our written permission. We may suspend or close accounts that do, and we'll tell you why unless the law or safety prevents it.
9. Services you connect
Prompt Butler works alongside services we don't control: the AI chat sites you save from (such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini) and, if you choose to connect them, Google Drive, GitHub and GitLab. Their availability, changes and terms are their own. If a chat site changes its layout, saving from it may pause until we update Prompt Butler.
10. Our property
Prompt Butler, including its software, design, name and logo, belongs to us and our licensors. While your account is active, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Prompt Butler under these terms.
11. Ending
You can stop using Prompt Butler any time by cancelling any paid plan and removing the extension. To delete your account, email [email protected]. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we stop offering Prompt Butler. If we stop offering it, we'll give you reasonable notice and refund any prepaid period you haven't used. Sections 6, 7 and 10 through 18 continue to apply after your access ends.
12. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, Prompt Butler is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Prompt Butler will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that saved data will never be lost.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to Prompt Butler is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so some may not apply to you.
14. Indemnity
If you use Prompt Butler for a business, you'll defend and reimburse us for third-party claims arising from your content or your breach of these terms, to the extent the law allows.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Kansas, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it locally. Before filing a claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally first.
16. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the extension or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Prompt Butler after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
17. General
These terms and our privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Prompt Butler. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of our business, and we'll let you know.
